A mysterious 65-foot mountain has sprouted from the 'swamps' of the park's Old South section. According to legend, buried deep within the mountain's chambers are bountiful treasures hidden years ago by the infamous pirate Jean LaFitte. Today, a mysterious force lurks in the darkness, guarding the treasure from those who venture to find it. Guests become a part of the mystery as they pass by abandoned expedition camps of explorers who have vanished and encounter obstacles like snapping gators, quicksand... and roller coaster thrills. Legend has it that gold awaits those who experience the wild ride in the dark. Is the legend true? The answer can only be found by those brave enough to dare the darkness.
